Serving St. Helena Parish, Livingston Parish north of I-12, and East Baton Rouge Parish east of US-61.
District 11 supports GSRs in making sure their group is reaching the alcoholic who is still suffering. A group's success depends on holding regular meetings by providing a safe place for the alcoholic who is seeking solutions on how to stay sober.
The district serves as a link between individual groups and Area Assembly, conveying each group conscience to Area Assembly and delivering the assembly's message back to the groups.
District 11 sponsors at least 3 workshops annually designed to provide valuable opportunities for education, fellowship, and connection within the district. By offering these events, the District ensures that members are able to gather, learn, and strengthen their understanding of important topics relevant to their groups and the district as a whole. The consistent sponsorship of these workshops reflects District 11's dedication to supporting its members and fostering growth and unity within the District.
GSRs and DCMs of District 11 participate in Area Assembly meetings on a quarterly basis. Regular attendance ensures that the District remains informed about developments, shares its groups' collective conscience, and collaborates with others in Area 27. This ongoing involvement supports effective communication, allows District 11 to contribute to the broader area's goals and facilitates the exchange of important information and updates between the district and the Area Assembly.
District 11 actively attends group meetings throughout the district and offers support to each group. By being present and engaged, the district ensures that members are informed about current developments and initiatives within Area 27. This involvement promotes greater awareness and connection, helping groups stay updated on important matters that affect both the district and the broader area. All groups, new and existing, feel confident to ask questions, obtain resources on group conscience, A.A. Traditions and matters concerning the well-being of their group.
